I agree with whoever Larey is. English is one of the most useful classes we have in school. One class we don't need in the real world: Chemistry. Or Algebra II. Nothing we learn in these classes (besides very few things regarding money in Algebra II), are going to help us live our lives or accomplish tasks in our jobs (Unless your going to be a doc or contractor.)!!!! Uselessness!!! ^-^
Chemistry and math are more useful than sentence diagramming, analyzing stories, and learning the "right" way to write a paper for the fifth grade will ever be!

English sucks, sure the first couple of years are okay, when you get into the useless stuff it completely sucks, and for the English supporters let me ask you one thing, when your out of school that ,including college, and out on your own paying your own bills, when are you going to diagram a sentence? that's what I thought, never
I disagree only because it helps you to learn how to speak clearly and to be able to think a bit out of the box.
